OK, my platys are doing "No 2's" like mad now...!!
I carried out a water change earlier today - 20% and a clean - all the platys are looking fine and quite happy... except they are continually pooping...!!!

I am not kidding, just now all 4 of them had poo coming out that was 2-3 inches long...! The longest was at least 4 inches...!! I have never seen so much, is this normal??

I have tested all my levels since the water change - Amm 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 25 and pH 7.6 - so all OK, exactly the same as before my water change.

Please let me know if this is something I should worry about, or if it's normal for small platy's to have such long poos.....!!!

..just to add, I am very careful about how much I feed them, and I only feed once a day. I give them flake, bloodworm and pellets as treats - so they have variety

Classic signs of constipation. It wouldn't hurt to look at how much you are feeding them. You might be feeding them a bit much or need to change their food. This is a good time to add spirulina into their diet, it tends to help move things along nicely.

Remember, it's healthier to mix up their food every so often anyway. Feeding the exact same thing all the time is not the best idea. For optimal health, get a few choices and give them something different as a treat at least once a week.

It's not totally uncommon for that to happen. They may have been a little constipated due to too much dry food and the water change or temperature change " got things moving" again. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sounds like constipation to me.
Get a frozen pea (yes the green things) defrost it and shell it and drop it in the tank.

Fish love them and it will help with the digestion. xx
