Regardless of whether or not they can (which they can't) it was an inappropriate reaction of behalf of the teacher. You need to call the Principal and request a meeting. At the very least the teacher should provide an apology to you and your son, the rest would be handled by the Principal. If your son came home with marks that is grounds to call the school board in charge of your school - you have the right to press charges but you should meet with the school to decide if it really is worth it - or if the teacher just made a horrible mistake that can be made right.

Don't over react as a parent.
No a teacher cannot grab a child except in certain circumstances (law changed recently).
However, stories change on the way home so make sure you child hasn't been encouraged to change his story by friends.
Discuss this informally with the teacher and Head, then if you are still concerned take it further officially.
Teachers do get harassed (this is no excuse) but also children aren't always the same little angels at school that they are at home.

From your description, I wouldnt say he "grabbed him by the face". He maybe lifted his head up by the chin by putting his thumb on the cleft of the chin. If there wasn't any severe cut or bruise then there is no issue. Your child should have payed attention and not ignored the teacher.

As for the liar comment, if it was truly said then it was wrong. Talk to the teacher whenever you get a chance to get the full story.

no a teacher is not alowed to make any phisical conntact with any child
teachers also get paid leave for stress and no matter if your son had stuck another child or even if hes a handfull can a teacher phisically touch your son
i now hope he did hit that boy as your soon was manhandled talk to the bored of education as head teachers like to sweep it under the carpwt and that teacher has some serious stress issues
i wouldnt dream of grabbing anyone elses child and if i were you id prosicute the teacher their obviously in the wrong field of work
hope your son recovers without being to upset
good luck

Of course teachers aren't allowed to do this. I would make sure you have all your facts straight and make sure there has been no exaggeration about the incident from your son, kids are very good at making a bit more out of things than is actually the case and it can be embarrassing when you go in all guns blazing only to find out your child has lied to you! You will then need to contact the head of the school to arrange a meeting to discuss this.

I know in canada that is strictly forbidden, teachers should not be in anyway without reason(eg saving their lives) touch the student.. talk to the principle if they do nothing then go to the school board of your region... it's not allowed and the shouting dirrectly in the face of a child with the intent to intimidate or threaten, is also not allowed.. thats a terrible teacher and needs to be fired from teaching anywhere!

Id make a formal complaint teachers can be sacked for this type of intimidating treatment. They have a hard job yes, but they do not have the right to shout in a pupils face or grab a child as this constitutes assault.

You didn't say how old your son is, but to me that is child abuse. I would find out if this teacher had done this to any other child, and if so, I'd report him/her to the School Board. They should take some sort of action--such as firing him/her--especially if there is enough evidence shown to prove your case. This is similar to my nephew's case, except it was the principal who was harrassing him to the point he quit school in about the 8th grade (he has a learning disability and we couldn't convince his teachers of this. Not to mention the fact, he was partially deaf in one ear because he'd stuck a bead down his ear when he was little and didn't tell anybody). As for that other boy not lying to the teacher--anyone is capable of lying.

It really depends on how she grabbed his chin and how much force was involved. I would advise you to try to arrange a face-to-face conference with you, your son, the teacher and the building principal to try to determine everyone's perspective of the events. Once that has been done, you can determine whether the teacher was using unneccessary force and, if so, what your next step will be.

Technically, she isn't meant to till that's self protection, yet while the student hasn't complained yet, then she's fortunate. quickly, no. No instructor is meant to bodily pass a student in the type of style. in basic terms sort of point out it to her casually and state which you do no longer experience she could try this, and to be a sprint greater affected person with them.
