No, some believe it is okay to start on milk at 9 months. There is not a magic line she crosses at exactly one year of age...she will be fine. The only problem is she might not take to a complete crossover, she might not like the taste of the milk in comparison to formula. You normally would start mixing a little milk with a little formula and slowly stop the formula...so I guess that is her call.

My baby is almost 1 years old this month too, It is my third. I still give her main nutrition from her formula but at meals I give her a sippy cup of whole milk, definitely not diluted. That way she is introduced to the idea of sippy cups and the whole milk thing. When she turns one, I will slowly (over about 2 weeks) start weaning her off the formula. It starts with maybe 1/4 whole milk 3/4 formula, then after a few days 1/2 milk 1/2 formula, and so on.

Milk would be just fine. Make sure it is WHOLE MILK. Children under the age of 2 should be drinking whole milk unless your dr says otherwise. Do not dilute this, your baby needs the calories, fats and other nutrients for healthy develpoment. You can even put in baby rice/oatmeal, etc in the bottle. I usually feed my baby the rice and oatmeal seperately and at bedtime I put it in her bottle so she stays full. Most pediatricians will tell you that age 1 is a great time to switch over to milk from formula. Depending upon your babies weight you can even switch over earlier than 1. This will not make her sick unless she is lactose intolerant. The best thing to do is to gradually giver her milk mixed in with the formula (half and half), so her tummy gets used to this. Though I don't believe you would be doing any harm by just abruptly switching. Good Luck!

It could, but only because you need to introduce milk to her system slowly. You want to start adding it to the formula, and work your way out of the formula and into just milk. Gradual is the key for babies, you have to give their systems (and tastebuds) time to get used to new things.
Think about it, if you don't normally eat spicy foods, and out of the blue you order Enchiladas with jalapenos and a side of hot salsa with chips, what's that going to do with your stomach? You won't be too happy cause you'll be pretty uncomfortable after the meal. I know, that's an exaggeration to the extreme, lol, but really, new things can reek havoc on a young digestive system.

Three weeks early won't cause any problems. You don't need to dilute the milk with water. She will benefit more from the "full strength" of the milk :) Just remember she needs to be drinking whole milk until she is two years old because she needs all the good fats to help her develop and grow!

no some parents will start giving regular milk at 10-12 months but i would do it gradually because she might not like it at first but it wont do any harm if you do worry about it call your doctor first to be sure.
