Kyle I think you misunderstood me, I meant that he threw a no-hitter, but what did he do that made it not a perfect game.

He did not throw a perfect game, he threw a no-hitter.
Oh, he walked 4 people and a perfect game is no walks, hit by pitches, or errors (27 strait outs).

Justin Verlander did not throw a perfect game, just a no hitter. He walked four guys.
A perfect nine inning game is when you record 27 straight outs. No walks, Hit by pitch, or errors.

Structurally the sentence is fine, though "pitched" would be a better choice of verb.
The sentence is not an accurate description of last night's Brewers-Tigers game result, however. Verlander's effort did not achieve baseball perfection, and in baseball, "perfect game" has an exact definition; presuming a hyperbolic description of an outstanding yet not baseball-perfect performance is not widely accepted.

He walked a guy. It doesn't count as a hit, so it is still a no hitter, but it voids the perfect game.

A perfect game is no hits, walks, no baserunners by error. A no hitter is just no hits. It doesn't take into account walks and errors.

a perfect game not only has no hits but no base runners either. Since he issued walks.. it is only a no hitter. (still a super feat)

He walked 4 guys. When you walk a guy - you lose the perfect game.
