to go to the same length's to start a petition to each of their local mp's for the compulsory castration of paedophiles, before any of you ask, yes I'm starting one in my local area.

I've got bad news for you: castration does NOT end their desire. It does NOT work. More like compulsory life sentences instead.

I read years ago something where a convicted paedophile said castration doesn't work as they are so sick in the head. I'd need a lot of convincing that it has been proven to reduce reoffending rates dramatically.
I think you need to go to the source (the sick mind). If you can't cure that then I'm afraid you have to lock them up forever. Judges and Jurys could easily exempt obviously none serious cases like the one Jeanimus describes.

What is the connection with the McCann's? Are you trying to make a point? Because there seems to be a hidden agenda in your question.
I signed the petition you are talking about and yes I have always felt that castration of pedophiles is something that should be considered but I would not sign a petition for that. I think there are medications that they can be given and there should be clinics that they attend to have this medication. If they don't arrive on one occasion then they should be imprisoned. I feel my taxes would be put to good use then.
But again I question why you connect this with the McCann petition. People sign a petition, period. If there was one to stop Paedophiles I would sign that too.
I do not approve of negligent parents or paedophiles.

Absolutely. Preferably I would like to see them locked up for life. Its one of those ultimate crimes that should not be pardoned. For those who say it will encourage murders - I don't agree - it takes someone to go an extra step and fact is we have the same punishment for radically different crimes as it is which could be seen as unfair so I cannot see an argument for allowing any lenancy on these perverts.
Appreciate that many were abused in their past but its not a good enough excuse and the cycle has to stop.
ZERO TOLERANCE

Yes, i would support that. Although i think we have to be absolutely sure that it is effective in all cases. Its important that we don't get lulled into a false sense of security, thinking they are now "Safe".
Preferably i would like them to be locked up & the key thrown away. Actually, i would prefer the death penalty, but the PC Mob wouldn't allow that.
Lots of things are forgivable, but the exploitation, abuse and in some cases murder of children isn't something i could ever forgive. Kids are so vulnerable, totally incapable of defending themselves.
Apologies for the rant, but i cant stand any cruelty.

In a heartbeat and without a doubt. Paedophiles get away with far too much, when they come out of prison they are rehoused and even given community care grants to furnish their houses. They should be hung, drawn and quartered

Can I still sign even if I did not sign the McCann one, or is it only open to those that did?Does this include Women paedophiles as well ?
What has this to do with the McCanns ? Why not just set the petition up without reference to the McCanns ?

Why only the ones who signed the McCann Petition?
I didn't, but I have signed the petition against Paedophiles and more stringent punsihments.
I am just curious as to why only those who signed it?

i certainly would,if castration worked i would volunteer to do it,but it just simply does not work in curbing their sick compulsions until a law is passed that ensure these people are locked up permanently, they will continue to prey on innocent children while the government and human rights campaigners( who argue that scum have rights too) stand back and do NOTHING!!

I would sign it but only for chemical castration. I do feel it may protect people from these criminals, the reason I would not do so for 'proper' castration is that these people often have mental health issues, this should be seen as the first step to getting them treated.
