To answer your second question, we should fear fear more than we fear terrorism. 9/11 was a horrific event, and yet it only killed ~3000 Americans. So few Americans have been harmed by terrorism in the history of our country, and yet we are told to fear terrorism or we will all perish. It's ludicrous. Of course we should try to prevent terrorism, but fear of it should not consume our lives or decide our elections. That indeed is what terrorists want - to disrupt our lives through fear.

What a way to run a country, by terrorizing its citizens. Many of the older generation believe the bullshit our President spouts, you hear it repeated enough on here. Who among us has awakened to terrorists in their back yard? Everybody felt fear after 9/11. But it is the Democrats who wanted to dialogue with the terrorists, who wanted to let the terrorists dictate our actions, who wanted to obey the demands of the terrorists. It was cowardly to even ask, "Why do they hate us?" because it didn't matter. They attacked us - the only meaningful and responsible reaction was to kill them.

It is the appeasing leftists who have failed, and failed miserably, to leard the lessons of WW2, the failure of appeasement and the fact that these enemies, like Hitler, will not stop until they are completely destroyed.

I wonder the same thing. Fear is a device of power used to gain and keep power. All politicians employ going all the way back to Machiavelli and even way before him. It is nothing new. But you're right it does appear the terrorists are succeding dosen't it? People won't fly, people won't travel, people stockpile goods. That is fear, not fight, fear!

The goal of terrorism is to convince our government to stop screwing around in whatever country the terrorist comes from.

Unfortunately, our government only cares about its own survival and increasing its power, which is why it does absurd things like responding to terrorist attacks by invading a completely unrelated country. Most of the presidential candidates refuse to acknowledge why the terrorists attacked us on 9/11... because we are meddling in their affairs, propping up dictators in their countries, and trying to force them to do things our way. Wouldn't that make you mad? The 9/11 Commission report makes this very clear.

We should be far more concerned about the actions of our own government than any terrorist.
