Should liberal professors be made to look stupid when they are wrong all the time? i have seen some discuss legal cases with no real understanding and mistating the case. and blaming republician justices for it without realizing that there were republicans on boht sides. they also say how great afriican gov't are when everyone knows some are a shame. Should you at that moment stand up and call them a fraud or should you just ask them to futher explain and laugh as they stammer over their words as they lie. Is this a time for a cultural revolution like china had where the people reported their teachers who didn't know what they were talking about and removed.
plus why are professors mostly liberal? is it because their reaoning skills would not work in the real world?

You should pretend they aren't idiots, even though they are. They take themselves quite seriously and, though liberal, will not hesitate to flunk anyone they think doesn't agree with them. So stifle.

Why are they liberal? Probably because the administrators are liberal and tend to hire other liberals. It feeds on itself.

You should probably just grow up and find the maturity to discuss the issues in a dignified manner. Having a difference of opinion is not wrong.
If your professor is asserting that an African government is good, maybe he/ she has a specific one (or ones) in mind. "Some are a shame," yes, but not all of them.
As to why many of your professors are liberal? Maybe it has something to do with the area in which you attend college. I attend in an area where there is a heavy concentration of Catholicism and thus, a heavy concentration of conservatism.
If you are unhappy with the education you are receiving, switch colleges. But really, all I can see here are two disagreeing points of view- That's not a poor education.

Only if you are willing to jump over the conservative professors when they make bone-headed assertions.

Part of the problem is that many college professors are extremely liberal. Also, as you mention, professors are stuck in their ivory tower with little understanding of the real world. They want to focus on how the world "should" be, not how it is.

On the other hand, the reason most professors are liberal is that they are educated. Most educated people are likely to be liberal, (though not necessarily as extreme as the examples you mention).

Conversely, I find conservatives to be any combination of the following

1) mean and uncaring
2) illogical
3) dumb
4) religious-Faith is fine in religion, but I wonder if people who have faith in God also tend to exhibit faith in their political party. Some people will defend George Bush and his "assorted nuts" no matter how bad things get.

Finally, let's keep in mind that the vast majority of the people are NOT on the extreme fringes of liberal or conservative, but comfortably in the middle, with leanings to one side, but some agreements with the other.

Because their liberal views include giving back to the community in the form of teaching instead of selfishly using their Ph.D's to double their annual income as a Halliburton consultant.

Maybe this guy is just trying to get you to see a different point of view. Remember, he's been studying this subject his entire life - he DOES know more than you on this subject, DOES have more of an understanding, and DOES have more reasoning skills than you.

Who do you think YOU are? What are YOUR qualifications to say you know better than your Professors... who has a Ph.D. and at least a dozen articles published in peer-reviewed journals. Get over yourself.

Well, the thing is, Timmy(Can I call you Timmy?).
Some people are rich. These people have the money to feed lots of people. But they don't. They sit in their offices and watch other people work, and then dump pollution in the ocean. And then get paid for it. They're called "Rich People". Some people other are poor. They work three jobs and still can't make rent. They're called "Poor People". Some people(those of us with hearts) find that disturbing. These people are called leftists, radicals, liberals, etc.
You, obviously, are not one of these people. Hence you have no heart. In conclusion, liberal professors are cooler than you. Thank you for listening, Timmy.

That seems like a pretty broad generalization. I don't think every liberal prof is an idiot (though there are some). And honestly, while it may effect your grade, i am all for pointing out when a prof is wrong, or to make them explain. If they are full of crap, it should be pointed out.

College is about learning. If you're not confident enough to speak up in class, and maturely discuss and learn something, and also teach others in the process, what good are you doing being there.
