I think you might be spelling the word as we say it, and if that's the case, the word is 'honorary', and its meaning is -
hon·or·ar·y (ŏn'ə-rĕr'ē) pronunciation
adj.

1. Held or given as a mark of honor, especially conferred as an honor without the usual adjuncts: an honorary degree.
2.
1. Holding an office or title given as an honor, without payment: an honorary colonel.
2. Voluntary: the council's honorary secretary.
3. Relying on honor and not legally enforceable, as a duty or obligation.

What do you think? Sound okay?
