I'm English but I live in Portugal and have travelled around Lisbon, whch is a lovely capital city, the North including Porto and the Minho- a stunning, green and mountainous region and the Algarve which is famous for its beaches and lots of other places. Portugal has a lot to offer because every region is very different in terms of scenery, traditions, food and lifestyle. So it is full of surprises and hidden corners. Even in the most popular areas there is always somewhere new to explore or something new to try. These experiences help you get to the heart of the country and its people. If you're interested in visiting Portugal check out http://www.portugal-sport-and-adventure.com/portugal-sport.html for other people's stories about Portugal and lots of interesting things to do.

Yes.
I'm portuguese. I live in Portugal.
I've been all around the World travelling, but I love Portugal best. The food is best, the wine is best, the beaches are best... and the girls are THE best. LOL
If you want to know something in particulary, just email me.

And don't be afraid. We don't have bunches of serial killers, we don't have slaves since the 19th century (1869), we don't eat our enemies hearts anymore ROTFLMAO
There are a lot of different places to visit and enjoy and places for all purses (I mean you may spend a lot or spend just the ammount you can spend).
If you come in the summer (July to September) the prices are higher.
The Algarve is lovely but try to evoid these months. It's completely full and it's horrible. Best time to visit is from April to June, or after September if you don't mind a little rain (not much).
But if you like being completely surrounded by people mostly english speaking (LOL) come in August. But get your wallet ready and full of Euros.

Just a note for "Laywer"... the only suspect in the Madeleine affair is an englishman. There are no portuguese indicted or suspected.
Portuguese do not kidnapp people. Especially children.

Yes, I was born in Portugal - Porto. I usually go there once a year. Visited the country top to bottom and I recommend it, and it's not only for the sunny beaches, it's for the landscape, food, wine, people, history, night-life, culture, etc. It is a very interesting country with lots of things to visit!
My favourite towns are Porto (obviously) and Viseu. they are both very historical towns.

I don't know whether you're Portuguese or not, but besides visiting Portugal, enjoying its beautiful sights, beaches and monuments, you should try and know more about its History.
It's a very long, adventurous and emotional one, about one of the oldest countries in the world!
I live in Portugal.

Yes, I was born there.
Its a great place, if you stay out of the Algarve.
Too many turists. No offence to turists or anything.
I just think that when you visit a country you should see it as it is, the way the Algarve is now, its just like being in England, except alchool and cigarrettes are cheaper.
