I usually park my car under the tress and notice for months that there are hard, glue-like stuff on my windshield. I'm positive that they fell from the trees. Now, when I try to take it off, its really hard to do. If I try to take clean it with a knife, it leaves nasty marks. [ Imagine that a used gum is stuck under your shoe for few weeks and you're trying to take it off].

Any suggestions or ideas as to how I can get rid of this stuff please?

straightedge razor blade and WD-40.

Acetone = A+, Rubbing Alcohol = A, Fingernail polish remover = B+. I would not use WD40 due to potential residue left over from that and assuming you are putting a new sticker on. Just replace toll tag for airport and the old acetone on a rag, not paper towel did the trick.

Razor blade to get rid of the big chunks followed by some type of solvent (nail polish remover, brake cleaner, etc.) followed by some window cleaner.

And stop parking under that tree.
