what actors and singers say about anything?

I certainly don't. Most don't have the education to back up what they say. Politics? How many took political science classes? Science? How many have Science degrees? Most celebrities just like to sound smart and knowing, when really they're mouthpieces for someone else.

We shouldn't, but for some reason the masses do. I don't get it. They're artists, not political science experts.

Some use their fame for good, some are self serving. I think we should take it all with a grain of salt, but it is quite surprising that a celeb can make just about anything happen, huh? It's the perception of clout... maybe?

We really have no reason to. But paparazzi get quotes so that the celebs can reccomend stuff, complain, and so the press gets money and they like to annoy the celebs sometimes too. The paparazzi is very annoying. They can go up to celebs and drive them crazy if they're in the celeb's face. They really get hundreds of thousands of dollars for that. They also go to the most popular celebs (like right now Paris Hilton) to get quotes and pixx so they can put them on the tv and post news and stuff.

I think we should care only because they have this kind of power over some people. It seems that some people do or believe what these "celebrities" say, so I think it is important for those of us that don't necessarily believe or care what they say should care what they are saying because there are people out there that do care a lot and WILL do or BELIEVE what they say, and we should be aware of that. Did that make any sense?

Because they're people too? But I see you're point... how credible could they really be... they live in a different reality than most of us. Some of them do have steady heads on their shoulders though and can use their fame to do some good in the world.

Because Enquiring Minds want to know and we are their fans! Without us we are nothing but the common person as like you and I.
(At lest that is some others outlook on this question. As for me I really don't care to look in their back yard while mine needs cleaning.)

We really shouldn't because in the end they're just people like you and me. However, because society places so much emphasis and importance on celebrities, they become icons and role models in many cases. They may not ask to become role models, but you have to understand that it comes with the territory. Blame it on society and parents for allowing their children to idolize this lifestyle.

No doubt...it gets so old watching complete idiots clamor over everything a celebrity says or does, while THEIR life crumbles around them in shambles...Seems like alot of peoples' priorities are just so damned skewed...
