yeah sometimes. like if something sad happened when that song was hot, it will always not be so great. i remember when Kylies "can't get you out of my head" what out, my mum had just moved countries and was setting up house while my brother and i were iving with an uncle. it was ok i just really missed my mum, so although i like the song its also saddening a bit coz it makes me think of when mummy wasnt about :)

songs brings back memories, both happy and sad I am afraid. Funny thing though, as a musician, I find myself often playing the saddest music I know of, like Bach, on my piano if I am a bit down. It brings me straight up again, every time. well anyway, make good memories with the new songs you hear, so your memories will be good. Peace and love from Norway

There are still CD's I can't even listen to because they make me think of my ex. Don't know why, but every song I hear makes me think of what was going on at the time I first heard the song. Isn't that just a shame? lol Now, there are songs that make me happy because of what happened when the song was playing. Even if those songs were years old, I can't help but love to hear them.

Yes, but depressed in a good way. What I mean is, they remind me of times past, things that are gone forever: hanging out with your friends, riding around looking to pick up girls, being in high school. Some of my songs are: Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by GreenDay, Freshman by The Verve Pipe, Freefallin' by Tom Petty, Push by Matchbox20, Summer Girls by LFO, Just To See You Smile by Tim McGraw, Iris by The Googoo Dolls, No Scrubs by TLC, Callin' Baton Rouge by Garth Brooks.....
If you're still young and single, enjoy your life while you still can.

One song I played over and over again when I broke up with someone and it made me so sad at the time, I now can listen to it and find it only a really beautiful song.

yeah, because a lot of songs have special memories or make you think of different times. And those times could have been hard or the memories can be painful. So yes.

Sometimes.
most people associate a song with a memory or a time in their lives
if its heard again all the memories flood back.
However its the same with good memories :D
so you have a good chance of being happy too

Oh yes - when they remind you of a certain someone at a different place or time & the memories make you sad, that hurts....certain songs mark lasting impressions in your life....
