1) Freedom from Slavery (Lincoln and the republicans)
2) Construction of the Panama Canal (T. Roosevelt - oh yeah, and then Clinton gave it back due to some technicality like a treaty...lol)
3) Ronald Reagan
4) Ronald Reagan
5) A strong military
6) Defeat of communist Russia (the old USSR for those of you old enough to remember)
7) The Interstate Hwy system (Eisenhower)
8) Lower inflation and interest rates (Reagan, after all the good that Carter did....NOT!)
9) End of Vietnam (Nixon - can't say too much good about him but he also opened up relations with China)
10) Ronald Reagan - the last president to truely have the vast majority of americans be proud of their leader. Go ahead liberals and cry about him but you know that is a fact (how many states did Mondale win? Let's add them up, 1)
All that said, the conservatives (GOP) and the liberals (DEM) are almost the same now - as in they both are bought and owned by wealthy corporate america. Too bad, really. We had such a great country in the past.....

Since people like Paul Grass have given the best and complete answers!!! The most important one is that conservatives with values have kept liberals from giving away our country to the likes of radicals,i.e....Dick Durbin,John Murtha,Sean Penn,Barbara Streisand,Alec Baldwin and all the communist left, so called celebrities
