Having never been a fan of this lady I have generally tended to lgnore this never ending saga. However this morning having seen yet another banner headline in a national daily about her death I am of the opinion that she should be allowed to rest in peace. This constant pressure on her children and on their father must be unbearable and as with any family bereavement after time you have to move on. We should them to do that.

It has been seven years since the tragic death of PRINCESS DIANA, but the fascination with the royal beauty continues. To mark the August 31 anniversary of her passing, Andrews McMeel Publishing released Diana: The Portrait written by ROSALIND COWARD. What makes this book unique is that it is the first one that is fully authorized by the late princess' estate and the Spencer family.

She was the darling of her generation, an iconic figure who drew the world's sympathy. Her picture on the cover could swell the sales of any magazine; and the fascination went far beyond her looks. Princess Diana's story had the ingredients of matchless drama—glamour, betrayal and finally tragedy. At her death, millions mourned.

I agree though... let her Rest in Peace.

There seems to be no evidence that Diana died through intervention of outside forces of any kind except possibly a drunken driver. Having lost my own son through a rather mysterious illness, I do feel the family should be left in peace - as should Diana herself. Nothing can turn back the clock, some things have no explanation and sad as that is, we who are left have to carry on with life, not forgetting but celebrating the life that has been lost. It can feel very unfair that a life is cut short for whatever reason, we try to accept and that'snot always easy. I feel for the two boys, they did not choose to be born into such a conspicuous family, but basically they are just 2 sons and Diana just happened to be their mum. The celebrity of it changes nothing.

No we still have investigative journalism covering stories from every major event throughout the 20th C,The death confusion surrounding Diana will be debated upon for many years to come.
If the free press were to stop the investigation into hers and others stories we as a nation will inevitably be fed a series of government explanations to suit who ever is in power at that time,as a democracy we need to have the power to read into what ever we wish at any time without fear of reproach or censorship,

I know i appear to be an exception, but i liked Diana. She was very badly treated by the Royal Family, and her Husband in particular. I think people forget how young and inexperienced she was, when she married Charles. She was used to produce the Heir & Spare. Then she was supposed to keep quiet whilst her Husband knocked about with his other paramours, including Camilla.
In answer to your question though, she should be allowed to rest in peace now, we will never know the real truth anyway.

Yes probably but not completely. What I mean is I think just a little mention every year on the anniversary of her death so that her sons know she hasn't been forgotten, but certainly tone it down.Of course she will continue to be in the forefront of the news until the inquest has taken place,so until that is resolved we will have to be patient. Then I hope the media will let her rest in peace.

Marilyn Monroe died in 1963 and Elvis in 1977 & they're still in the news! Diana will be news long after I'm gone from this earth. While she did some good, I've always seen her as being manipulative & emotionally immature.

I think while there is suspicion and controversy around Diana's death, she will never be allowed to rest.
