In my personal opinion and belief, the soul enters the fetus at any time during the gestation period. When a woman has an abortion, the soul knows that fetus is going to be aborted and thus does not enter the fetus (and therefore, contrary to what many believe, the fetus does not "feel" any pain). It should be a choice that a woman can make. Of course, in saying that, the father of the fetus has every right to have a say in the matter as well. After all, it takes two to tango, right? We should never, NEVER look down on a woman or couple that chose abortion, as we're not in their shoes and thus have no idea what they're going through. It's not an easy decision to make, and I think a lot of people don't understand that.

Well, like doesn't come from non-life. So really, life began with the first life on the planet.
I mean, sex cells (like all of your cells) are alive too, so conception isn't the beginning of life, since the ovum and spermatozoa were alive too.

In the USA, abortion is legal, in most states, up to the 24th week of pregnancy.

Yes.

Stricter - I believe that it should be made clearer that elective abortion is only legal until viability (at the 24th week of pregnancy).

I am Pro-Choice. I believe that it is a violation of bodily integrity to FORCE a woman to remain pregnant. It is unethical, and a violation of human rights (according to the UN) to make abortion illegal.
Abortion is NOT murder. "Murder" is a very specific legal term that requires that both killer and killed be legal persons (the unborn human is not, as legal personhood begins at birth), and premeditated malice (which is not present in the case of abortion - the woman doesn't hate the unborn human, she just doesn't want it living in her body).
Abortion IS birth control. It ends a pregnancy and so, by definition, Controls Birth. I do agree that couples should use contraceptives, first.
I really don't feel that the government should be trying to take over control of women's bodies.

Abortion is a very very personal choice that a woman should be allowed to take. I think that they should be encouraged to keep the baby or adopt, but they should be able to choose at the end of the day.
