Why did Hitler jail and murder socialists all during his nightmare regime? I just wonder since so many people see the 'socialist' in National Socialist.... party and think Hitler was a socialist.

Do some people who call him a socialist just do that to offer some kind of proof against socialism? Bush calls himself a Christian, but I wouldn't hold that against Jesus.

Thanks nickolassc - your example is better than mine on Christianity.

Your point reminds me of the name German Democratic Republic, too.

Lables, whether accurate, or not, often sway voters to a candidate. Party names are lables as both parties seem to have the same base agenda's but use different methods for achieving them. Some core values that seperate the fundamental differences between the parties have been quite compromised in both parties. The campaigning platforms appear party based but deep down the candidates are all corrupt to some degree. Once in power they learn what pays the most while protecting their position. Hitler had a secret agenda and manipulated the German people. Bush has done the same, someday in hell they will share a glass of lava and compare notes. Hitler might have killed millions of innocent people in an atrocious and horrible way,but Bush will be able to take credit for causing armageddon.

Nazi means NATIONAL Socialist, with the key word there being "National" - Nationalism is a right-wing ideology. No serious political historians categorize Hitler as "left wing" - none. The first people Hitler went after were Social Democrats and Democratic Socialists, and communists, then minorities, other various liberals, gays, artists, philosophers - hello, people - does that sound like a liberal to you, or more of a typical right-wing minority-hating, gay-hating artist-hating, left-hating maniac? It s also a well-known fact that Hitler greatly admired the upper class and American capitalists like Ford. This is part of the reason Oscar Schindler was able to save so many lives - he had great respect & influence as a rich industrialist capitalist in Germany at the time, and wasn t questioned.

He got rid of the communists they were a problem for him. Many people think communists and socialists are the same. There not entirely. Hitler was a dictator plain and simple his will was what he determined, socialism is a set ideology.

Political affilation didn't make a difference, Hitler was doing away with someone he viewed as competing for his place.Your statement about the president doesn't make sense, if you compare Bush to the last president and to the majority running in the Democratic party you will find that Bush is a better Christian.

Socialist societies are the place the flexibility of production are owned and controlled socially. All controlling governments are put in place by the people (actual democracy.) It ability no totalaristic government administration. the people very own companies. money is allotted calmly in accordance to the people which voids social instructions. Socialism is extremely the precise opposite of what the Nazis did. I ve continuously puzzled why that be conscious replaced into of their call. thank you for informing me! Yeah, and courses like welfare and socialized well-being care are social courses that could in straightforward terms exist in Socialism if the people (the staff) placed them in place.

Socialists might mean one thing to you, but something entirely different to someone else.
Plus, it was meant to mislead people that think like you but are afraid to ask for clarification.
Like you said, there are many types of christians and some that just pretend to be!
Socialisim in its root is a great thing!!! Put the human factior in it, and it goes to pieces.

He didn't.

He killed all those, within his government, who seemed potentially strong enough to wrest power away from him.

Hitler was a Socialist, albeit a National Socialist.

He was NOT a Marxist Socialist nor a Keynesian.

Hitler was a fascist and murdered ANYONE who didn't agree with the Nazi Agenda. Its common for fascist governments to use those types of titles: USSR or PRC are good examples.

Hitler killed Jews, Jehovah's witnesses, homosexuals, political dissidents, catholics, physically and mentally handicapped. etc.

Anti-Shiraz. I find your comment ignorant and incredibly hateful. You would have done quite well under Hitler.

I keep reading here on Yahoo Answers that Hitler was a socialist. He must have been self-hating.

The comparison is not entirely accurate - but I have no doubt if hitler were here in the US today he would be a republican.
