I think there's a logistics issue involved, in that the ballot would have to be huge in order to include pitchers.

Not sure why fans don't get to pick the pitchers. I wish we could. Granted, fans are generally going to vote for the name they recognize most, and good pitching fluctuates from year to year. That's my guess. But I think fans should control who gets in entirely. It's a trivial game for the fans anyway. Why not let the fans decide who goes in?

I'd almost rather see the popular vote go away altogether... too often really talented new players get over-shadowed by aging under-performers, simply because of name status.

I'd like to see every manager in the league vote for players at every position, with one exception... they cannot vote for players on their own squad. I think you'd get some authenticity if you let the managers decide who would best represent their league. Besides, it's only in their best interest to pick the best players, since they want to obtain home-field advantage should their team head to the World Series.

Because it was decided by MLB Association that it is the manager's job to pick. I think that it should be the fans choice also. All the other players are. Why not?!

The fans don't chose the pitchers the managers do, but it would be interesting to try and select that position too.

to allow you to comprehend the actuality i dont imagine the all-superstar is that major. convinced it does opt for which league could have how field income. yet its fairly for gamers to go back mutually and function interesting. yet to respond to your question, pitchers should be nicely rounded. You shouldnt have many wins yet a intense era and vise versa. As for the others postions they are many times chosen by ways nicely they hit the ball. no longer by there position. i imagine thats why they go away it as a lot because the human beings because its fairly alot to imagine about even as your chosing gamers for the all-superstar sport

That is a very good question. I think it gives the manager and players a piece that they can pick just themselves.

so only half the voting is about being a popularity contest.

I like voting, but it should really be taken out of the fans hands.
