All ferrets have whiskers, 8 parallel rows. They are used to detect an object's presence from a distance, much like a cat uses it's whiskers. The only thing, that I can think of, that would cause a ferret to be without whiskers is hair loss from adrenal disease. If your other ferret and the ferrets at your work are missing hair in other areas as well chances are they are suffering from adrenal disease.

According to the breed standard on www.ferret.org (the American Ferret Association), ferrets do have whiskers.
