Clinton pardoned about 150 people, most of whom were drug dealers who paid Hugh Rodham (Hillary's brother) to get pardoned. He also pardoned Mark Rich who was on the FBI's most wanted list. Now *that* was controversial. Whole books have been written on the Clinton pardon scandals.

So if Bush pardons Libby it would be pretty mild, since Libby really didn't commit much of a crime. He was accused of forgetting some facts in a case that had no substance at all. In fact the case had to be dropped because it has no merit: Plame wasn't covert and it was Armatage who exposed her as a spy after she appeared on the front cover of Vanity magazine with her husband Joe Wilson.

As someone else said, Libby will probably be let off anyway before Bush starts the pardon process.

Let me see if I have this correct - it's acceptable to impeach a president for committing perjury but a vice president's chief of staff should be pardoned FOR COMMITTING THE EXACT SAME CRIME?

Scooter Libby committed perjury to cover up the treasonous act Cheney committed (outing a covert CIA operative). And this BS red herring conservative bloviators like to use "that there was no underlying crime" is such an absurd diversion from the fact that Fitzgerald couldn't prosecute the "underlying crime" SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE LIBBY PERJURED HIMSELF IN ORDER TO BLOCK THE INVESTIGATION FROM IMPLICATING CHENEY.

You people kill me, and you're going to do the same to the rule of law in this country. The law applies to everyone, or it applies to no one.

U ever played poker? U don't give up all your good cards until the end.
NO.
Wait for due process. The appeals and all our great legal system has to mogg thru to get accomplished, as usual.
Bush is not worried. B4 he leaves office of course. Clinton let all his pals go including family b4 he left. Presidential privilege. Executive Orders.

Certainly not! In fact, in expiation for his own heinous crimes, Dubya should even go so far as to join Mr. Libby there .

LIBBY WAS STUPID, NOT A CRIMINAL.
Pardon him as soon as the message is understood by other stupid politicians.
OOOOOH! that will take a while!
