Long story short.
Rosie and Elisabeth were arguing about the war and Rosie complained that Fox News and others say that she said our troops are terrorists......and blamed Elisabeth for not standing up for her as a friend.
Rosie made it personal and Elisabeth FINALLY stood up for herself and said that Rosie's an adult and should defend her own insinuations. The next day was pre-recorded and over the weekend Rosie quit. She only had about 3 weeks left on her contract, and if she'd had swallowed her pride and come back to the show, she would have looked a lot better. Just saying . . .

I saw the show. Chandasalice has given you the best and most accurate answer. When I saw it, I knew it was a continuation of an old argument but had not seen the previous days show.
What I have to add is that then Alicia Silverstone was the first guest (maybe the only one, can't remember) after the argument and when she came out, Elisabeth (the other woman) was first in line and had her hand out for a handshake and Alicia just walked right past her without shaking her hand and then gave a group hug to the other women on the show. This was tackier than the argument.

The whole thing went down like this:
The week prior, Rosie and Elisabeth had gotten into an argument about Iraq where Elisabeth made a big deal about "terrorists" who want to attack and kill us. Rosie then asked, "655,000 Iraqi civilians are dead. Who are the terrorists?" She explained later that she meant only that the Iraqi people probably consider our people as bad as we consider "terrorists," and that the U.S. government - Bush etc. - was responsible for the deaths of more than half a million people who never attacked us and had nothing to do with Sept. 11 attacks.
The conservative news media took her comments to mean that Rosie thinks our troops are terrorists then spent the rest of the week talking about what a horrible person she is, how she hates our troops, etc. On Monday's episode of The View, Rosie tried to clarify her statement. She and Elisabeth argued again and Rosie asked her straight-out, "Do you think that I think that our troops are terrorists?" Elisabeth refused to answer, instead describing why FoxNews believed that was what Rosie had said.
Then, on Wednesday's show, the whole thing came to a head as they started fighting about Iraq again, which turned into a personal argument because Rosie said Elisabeth's failing to defend her was cowardly. The whole thing went on for about 10 minutes, with producers skipping a commercial break and using a "split screen" to show the pair dueling.
Who "won" the argument seems to have a lot to do with a person's political views and what they think about Rosie. You can watch the video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE_l8QYAWZM and decide for yourself.
Rosie had previously planned to be gone for Thursday's show because it was her wife's birthday and Friday's show was pretaped, so Rosie was on Friday but not Thursday. ABC announced Friday that Rosie had asked to be released from her contract early, leaving short of her June 17 end date. Rosie said on her blog that it was because she felt she'd said all she had to say, and she was upset by the producers' decision to use a split screen and allow the argument to continue even when it was time for a commercial break.
Check out the video and decide if Rosie or Elisabeth was correct on this.

Oh i think Rosie might have been kicked with a pointed toed boot. possibly this is the adaptation. while anybody turns right into a criminal duty to a company type, which equals funds, you're "long previous in 60 seconds." it is company usa land of the fairway back greenback.

joy had a list and was reading off it, why bush shouldn't be president. elisabeth was interrupting. then elisabeth made the mistake of saying iraq was the enemy. rosie jumped on it like a free pile of big macs. elisabeth had to correct herself by saying she meant al qaeda, rosie wouldn't let it go cuz it was a pile of burgers. elisabeth made an analogy of the war and football. rosie interjected with her typical anti war agenda. then started playing the martyr, yet still antagonized elisabeth. the two kept fueding while joy and some heifer were trying to calm the two down. rosie put elisabeth on the spot because she felt elisabeth could have cleared up her own faux pas and called elisabeth cowardly. this fired up the fight a little more while joy and the other nitwit kept trying to dissuade the situation.
since then, rosie asked to be excused with the view happily obliged. she was due to leave in a couple of weeks, so she just left early.
THIS HAPPENED ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO. LET IT GO ALREADY. IT'S LIKE WATCHING SOMEONE ON LIFE SUPPORT. PULL THE PLUG, TURN AROUND, AND LET IT DIE FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!

They got into a heated argument. The other chick is republican and Rosie is liberal so their political views got out of hand.
