How much history does the "UFO" _really_ have?

Today there is archaeological evidence dating back almost 7000 years in some pictographs. The Bible has reference to some thing that could be interpreted as a UFO. There are Sumerian writings that describe a UFO also. There are Chinese, Indian, Mayan and Aztec, as well as references in American Indian Folklore.

There are several very good books from a scientific point of view, that do a very good job of telling the history of the UFO phenomena.

There is a lot out there. Just have to dig for it. Pun intended.

The entire history of UFOs and ETs can be attributed to human psychology. There is a lot of it. Most of it since 1947. From time to time there is a UFO "flap." This is where there was an original sighting that was publicized, then many others claim to see the same thing in a short period of time.
Power of suggestion, mild hysteria, wishful thinking, dream alteration of memories, alcohol or other pathology that affects memory, misinterpreted aircraft or atmospheric phenomena, satellites, and even Venus are all popular causes of reports. Fraud is another factor. There have been many hoaxes. Some of the perpetrators have confessed, but the UFO story still lives on.
Many claim close encounters, being abducted, etc. These are faulty memories and dream fantasies, often retrieved through hypnosis. But we now know that wildly inaccurate stories can come from hypnosis, most notably sexual assault cases where the parent was convicted on such testimony after many years. The "victim" supposedly suffered a traumatic loss of memory. But now we know the utter invalidity of information gained through hypnosis.

There are no UFOs. The proposed technologies are wildly non-physical. The biological ramifications - in both directions - would be devastating.

What killed 30 million New World native Amerindian throwbacks after Christ-besotted Spanish psychotic felons arrived? A couple or three million were murdered. The rest died of disease - smallpox, measles, influenza. Foreign lifeforms scythed through the New World leaving a broad deep long avenue of corpses.

Outworlders would leave Earth with a sniffle and kill whole planets. Ditto on incoming. New World syphilis was the Great Pox in Europe. If you have ever seen smallpox... It must have really been something before it learned to live with its new hosts.

UFO is for unidentified flying object. Therefore the first UFO would have been a bird or rock in the air that a caveman couldn't identify. When the term UFO was coined, I don't know.

Flying saucers have been sighted by people in every nation all over the world. To me it would make more sense that everyone is seeing the same thing as opposed to believing that everyone is imagining the same thing.
