I wasn't raised wearing it. My parents never said anything was wrong with it, they just didn't want me to grow up too fast. After I got to 10th grade, I was glad I never did. I started hearing girls say that they wouldn't dare go out of the house w/o wearing it. They wouldn't let their close friends see them w/o it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. I think it's cute, but I don't think women should be so dependent on it. I think women should be secure enough that they can go w/o it some days. I mean, there are women out here who truly have natural beauty, but they don't think they're pretty so they keep wearing it. Believe me, I'm not all that great, but I don't want to have be bound to makeup because I'm scared of what people, particularly men think. I know all women don't feel this way when they wear it so I'm not talking to everybody. Women are strong creatures and it hurts me to know that some are scared to go out in their natural beauty. Sorry if you don't agree.

Please, please, please don't get offended if you wear makeup. Like I said, I'm not referencing all women who wear makeup. Some of you can go w/o or go with. Depends on how you feel that day. I'm only concerned about women who hide behind makeup instead of embracing who they really are. I may put some on one day for a really big occasion, like my wedding. I don't know. I just want to know that any man who wants to date or eventually marry me isn't with me solely based on how I look with makeup. That's all.

To all guys answering, kudos to you for not thinking girls (wives, girlfriends, etc) have to wear makeup. It's nice to know. I wish your significant others knew what you put up here. I would love to tell them how special you think they are! :-)

I'm the same way. I love girls like us!!!!

My mom feels the same. I only wore make up for halloween and dance recitals and even then it was lipstick, eye liner, and mascara.

I think us girls who don't wear make-up are naturally beautiful. We realize that makeup applied to young skin can case scarring and blemishes. We also are brave and free. We let everyone see the real us and we have nuthing to hide. be proud my make-up free friend :]]

We are very strong. You got that right!!

Hope I helped.

p.s. no, if u do wear make-up I'm not saying ur not beautiful and ur scared but I am saying tha I hope you know what your dong to ur skin and I think u should become braver. let the world see YOU not Maybelline!!! please don't be offended.

I don't wear makeup any more. I have a different perception of what beauty means now. I no longer accept the common definition of beauty, what "everybody knows" a beautiful person looks or acts like.
I now think everyone is most beautiful in their natural state. Everyone has a beautiful feature, or voice, or shape of leg, or whatever, and everyone has some features (personal as well as physical) that are not so perfect. But we are all just fine the way we are. If someone objects to looking at me because of that, that's their right and privilege, but it doesn't bother me.

To see how beautiful natural looks really are, visit a clothing-optional beach or park sometime, and look without preconception.
Beauty is everywhere! And it doesn't come out of a plastic box.

For women who are still schooling, it's always ok to go out without makeup. It's never a big deal, just depends on your preference. But once when you get into the working world, the habit of not wearing makeup would somehow turn into a issue. It shows you as a "disrespectful" employee in some industries (I'm not saying all working fields are requiring that). And while you are on a date, put some makeup also could show respect too, and make yourself more confidence with radiance.

However, wearing makeup doesn't mean that you are not confident yourself, which i strongly disagree that.

As to my side, I never wear makeup until age 25, because I believed that these chemical stuffs would ruin my sensitive skin and take away the natural color of my skin. But then, I need to think of finding alternatives which could get the beauty but not risking to "eat" all these chemical stuffs. I'm actually starting to think of trying those "mineral makeup" which could create a natural and healthy look but still beneficial to skin.

It doesn't matter if a woman wears make up or not, as long as they felt good about themselves.

I used to wear makeup when I was 14. By 17 I stopped. I got tired of putting on foundation, eye shadow, etc. Plus my skin was (and still is) oily so I felt as if my makeup was sliding off my face.

Now, I have people believing I am younger than I really am and that is because of going au natural.

yeah i get what you are saying. I always wear make-up out...and would never NOT unless I was camping...but there is a fine line between people who wear makeup and people who WEAR makeup...it kills me too see a girl who you know is beautiful...if only she would remove the caked on makeup.. if you've ever been to the M.A.C counter you know what i'm talking about. Instead of enhancing their features it's like they are trying to create a whole different face... which ironically i think takes the 'pretty' away.

I always enjoyed my wife's natural beauty, I just once in a while asked her to wear it, just to to have a special time with each other! She would wear make-up for important social events, most of the time she was happy to be free from the burden and I was never demanding about her wearing or not, whatever she wanted?

I don't have an opinion about women who don't wear makeup because you don't always need to.
I wear it when i am going somewhere special, but I don't wear it to work.

It more important to be dressed decent than to always have on makeup. It's not the only way to adorn yourself.
