i think people find it easier to criticise others. to be self- critical is an admission of your faults and most people like to think they are perfect.

Well when people are critical of others, it's really just to pass the time and because they're bored with criticising themselves.

I think most people are. We seem to be our own worst critics. Then again you have those people who don't see their bad side but enjoy pointing out the flaws of others. I still think that the majority of people are harder on themselves than others.

I would imagine it all depends on whether the person is introvert, or extrovert.
An introvert would generally be more self critical, while an extrovert is more likely to have a higher self esteem, and find fault with others easier.

i believe so
one good example is my boyfriend, he will beat himself up over the littelest things which most people would not notice
i guess with him and other people who beat themselves they remember every little thing that they done wrong
whilst if someone was being critical of another person then they would only critisize them for a few things

Yes. Perfectionists, ambitious people who love to excel are. People who are self-dillusioned, conceited and arrogant and trapped in a world where they are being pempered by somone who invested in them actually do have high opinions of themselves.
For example, everyone I have ever thought and read about thinks J.Lo can not sing, yet I bet that woman sees herself as a great singer in her own mind because of her agent's efforts to lead her to believe so.
Needless to say , one of the most untalented and tacky people in the world the jailed heiress, appallingly thinks of herself as someone who is talented and important because her agent manipulated her surroundings and got her jobs she is unqualified for to milk her 15 mins.
People who are actually driven and truly talented are the ones that are harshest on themselves. Only the ones who are famous for being famous think of themselves as great ones.
Hope this helps.

I think it is vice versa because you could criticize yourself as bad as criticizing others or as good.simple

I am extremely critical of my actions. I am a high self-monitoring person. I am my toughest critic.

The average person is, but the 'snob-type' look down at others, and shower themselves with praise.

No, I think they are more apt to be more critical of others because of their own imperfections/frustrations.
