Love only exists as an imagined culturally defined idea. It does not exist in nature. Take a good look at the idea and you will see that it is not actually defined and cannot be defined because no one really knows what it means. It's a useless and ridiculous concept that has brought nothing but misery and destruction to mankind. Here is the rephrase of the question; what does a living organism need to survive an procreate? Love is not the answer.

Different strokes for different folks. :o)
Love and loving is potato patato.
Love is a big emotion, it's also a four letter word. :o)
Alot of differences in our world...in, well, everything.
So the only way we can love something/someone is to believe, that somehow it is different from all the rest.
Love takes faith. And the first people to really get a stronghold and that whole idea of faith, were the Jews.
In the books of hebrews it is states "Faith is substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen."
What is love if not faith, and vice versa?
So, to rephrase the question..."Why am I going nuts?"....well, the answer is simple, "Love"...
