Life comes first then art is created by humans to imitate it. Mona Lisa imitates life. By its own nature, art can only imitate life and not the other way round. Artistic expression is essentially an attempt by human society to understand and appreciate their weaknesses and strengths. Hence, life is supreme and art imitates it.
