Do dogs and cats have belly buttons, and if so where

I have both so I can check...haven't found it yet though!

Yes they do! They are usually very smooth and covered with fur, that's why you can't see them. A friend of mine has a min pin puppy and their bellies are mostly hairless and you can see hers - it's so cute! Funny that my friend just asked me this about her min pin the other day - "Is this her belly button?" LOL. All eutherian or placental mammals have belly buttons because we are attached to our mother's via the umbilical cord. All a belly button is, is a scare from the umbilical cord.

Just one question? Have you ever seen puppies or kittens born? If so, did you happen to notice that there is NO umbilical cord!! NO, they don't have belly buttons. OK.

No. But you can see the scar or mark of where they were attached to Mom. That is if they are light in skin/fur color. I can see it on my Husky but not my Maine Coon.
