Is there a list of companies and service providers that franchise?

I am looking for buisness opportunities and would like to compare franchise possibilities to local areas? Do I have to search each companies website individuakyy to find such information?

That would take forever, but here's a hint.
Anytime you see a business with the same name as other businesses in the area and they provide the same service, I'd bet they were a franchise.
