I've not had mine done myself, but I've been present when a friend was getting her's done. It sounded like someone was trying to shove a needle through several layers of denim or through carpet. I don't think it hurt too much. There are LOTS of people who have them. Just be responsible enough to go to a good piercing shop when you are legal age. Torso piercings typically take 2 to 3 months to heal (6 to 8 months for female nipple piercings). Granted, they won't or shouldn't hurt that entire time. This is an estimate for a complete heal. Good luck!

I pierced mine myself 3 times when i was 13. when i got it done professionally 3 years later, the hole had a lot of skin but then soon, it morphed into the old hole that i made when i was 13. it sucks because it looks like there's not a whole lot of skin keeping it together lol. you can see through my skin and see the bar. its weird. but yea, i can feel my bar through my skin, and i think it will all be ok for you!

It will be sore for about a week and a half. Just don't touch it. Seriously.
