I reccommend you go to your local libraries or YMCA, YWCA or any other organizations that involve young teens. There are always summer oppourtunites there. Good luck.

While I am not sure where you live, there is a "legal" age to work in most states so obtaining a fast food sort of job or a clothing store is pretty much out of the question as you would need a social security card and be of a certain age for them to consider you.

However, there are many other things you can do to make money, especially during the summer. I know it sounds like a bore and no fun and this is why it is a huge deal for the summer, as no one ever wants to do it but window washing is a "huge" enterprise for cash.

Also, contact some of these house cleaning agencies and see whether they hire for cash under the table for summer time.

Sometimes local offices hire individuals to help them with copying, filing, etc. for the summer (also pay cash under the table).

There is also dog walking!

You might want to make some local calls around town or make up some business cards and/or flyers and pass them out in your neighborhood or post a flyer at your local grocery store, community center "bullitin board", library, etc.

Good luck!

What about dog walking and pet care for people, as well as house sitting for people when they go on vacation this summer? There are always openings for that kind of thing in most neighborhoods. You get to do things like bring in the mail and papers, water plants, turn lights on and off to make a house look lived in, pick up and put out trash for the collectors while the owners are away, and things of that sort. Many people will pay highly to have a responsible person watch their home for them while they are away- and this is especially true if they are elderly. Another thing you might look into is being a CIT or LIT at a summer camp in your area- you are old enough for that, and it's a lot of fun, plus you get to attend summer camp for a greatly reduced rate. Check with the local YMCA or YWCA to find out if they are affiliated with a camp that has one of these programs. If you live close to a state park, check with the park office and find out about opportunities for day camps- perhaps you can do things like work with younger kids at one of them. Working at the mall or at a fast food place is not really a possibility, not at your age. Most of those places are like any other business in that they don't hire minors ( anyone under age 18) to work for them because of child labor and liability laws. You could work as a volunteer at the local library, or even at the rectory/office of a church, doing paper or office type work. Getting a summer job takes planning, and you have to start looking early. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

At 14 you CAN work in a fast food resteraunt and supermarkets in MOST states. BUT it is very difficult to find a job at 14 years old, most employers PREFER to hire people aged 16. Not only that but the rise of illegal immigration, is taking away jobs for young people and low-income people. IF you are lucky enough to get a job in the first place, you will most likely be working at minimum wage.

Your BEST bet is ebay, you can be your own CEO/boss and make unlimited amount of money. Even if you don't have a lot to sell, you can buy a book on how to use ebay for PROFIT by buying and reselling things. You do NOT have to be 18 to sign up, but most likely you will need your parents bank account, if you want to get money out of Paypal. Now they are offering a Pay Pal debit card, so you can use it whenever. BTW: If you DO use the debit card in stores, carry around ID of any kind.

What are you waiting for!?

You're too young to get any real official paying job.
The obvious first choice is a fast-food place. But you have to be 16.
If you rule out baby-sitting, what about pet-sitting or dog-walking. People who are working or away might need that.
Another really good option is camp-counsellor.
They always need young people to work with little kids.
Have you been to any camps when you were little?
Does your city have Parks & Rec. departments?
They need people to look after little kids too.
If not lawn-mowing, how about plant-watering.
People who go away need such help.
When I was 16, I worked for a book-store.
I packed school-book orders for delivery.
Check local stores in your area.
You won't be handling money or serving the public.

AT the age of 14 depending on where you live and what thier minor employee laws are. I know of two things you could do. You could be a golf caddy at a golf course or if your family owned their own business or you have family members who own their own business you could work for them at age 14. Not to much a 14 year-old can do. But good luck and i hope this helped. Oh you could probably see about dishwashing to all though that's not to fun. But hey it's a job right.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to get a job at a fast food restaurant or a grocery store. It isn't ideal... but the choices are limited at 14. Where I live, you tend to begin working in better places at 16.
