terrific singles hitter.
He's got some pop to the gaps and power alleys.
Very patient hitter and makes the opposing pitchers work very hard to get him out
Is a big threat on the bases with his excellent speed.
Terriffic outfielder with a good arm and covers ground better than most OFs in the league right now
Not all an time great tho...he hasn't played in the MLB long enough to be considered that even though he has accomplished a lot of things like MVP and rookie of the year in the same season and having the all time hits record for the single season ,etc etc.
If you consider his stats from Japan and include it with MLB stats, its a no doubter. He's a legit hall of famer

All time great, perennial all-star, and definite Hall of Famer when his career is over. He can hit with power on occasion and he can turn routine doubles into triples. If he can play 6 or so more years after this season and keep hitting like he does, he has a real shot at 3,000 hits in the MLB - which if added with hits in Japan would give him more than Pete Rose. He's a great outfielder with gold glove ability and a cannon for an arm. Top notch base runner that puts pressure on the defense because of his ability to steal bases and go from 1st to home on plays that most runners wouldn't even consider. Certainly not an overrated singles hitters.

He is an all time great, although as many people have mentioned, his career will be shorter than many others because he came to the MLB so late.
MLB will not count stats from Japan toward his numbers, so he doesn't have much chance to hold records for most career hits or steals, although he would have a shot at those records if he played his entire career in the MLB.
he will definattly be in the hall of fame and remembered as one of the greats. He actually has decent power and launches them out of the park in BP, he just doesn't swing for the fence in the games because he knows that he can help his team more by having a high average and being on base than by hitting occasional home runs.
I think even as he loses that explosive speed he will still be a great player for many years, he is a great contact hitter and has a solid golve and a strong arm.

Ichiro is the consummate player and a credit to baseball. One of the best arms in the game from the outfield and can do it all. When is the last time you read something negative in the headlines about Ichiro? Has any teammate or other players ever had anything bad to say about him? How many times have you seen him in an argument with an umpire? When is the last time you saw him jog to first base on an infield ground ball? He is a great player and an asset to the game. With that being said, Craig, it takes fans with your knowledge of the game to appreciate his skills.

Not an all time great. He needs more years with around the same numbers for that.
One of the best contact hitters in baseball, a gold glove Center Fielder. He has some power but his role is to get on base.

definitely a great player but came to America late in his career. Doubtful to be in the Hall no matter what kind of single season #'s he puts up. If you are rating him with all-time great leadoff hitters he doesnt even rate because of this. I would take him on my team because his OBP and steals as well as batting average are so high but age will catch up with him soon.

Ichiro is an all-time great.
His ability to spray balls anywhere in the outfield makes him very effective.
He is like a Tony Gwynn, and gets on base and always there for a clutch hit.
Put him on any winning team and he is MVP of the league!!

a solid decent player who hits for average and contact. Good solid outfielder. not much on power with little home runs. he is an all-start on that Seattle team but i don't know any other players from that Seattle team. so far he has been consistant every year.
