dude... cmon now... love both for thier differences... hair metal is crunchy and all but themes sex drugs and love (ballads) while thrash is lighter than punk on the politics but overall hatred for everything around you... different moods demand different styles
Hair metal (lets not forget the cheesier end) warrant, firehouse, winger (GAG), and journey
Thrash metal (darker is better) Krokus, mercyful fate, overkill, suicidal tendencies

Hair metal, the list you have is probably the best but you do have a couple on the Thrash metal list. For a old guy I like different forms of musics, but not all in any form.

Thrash, but I grew up in the 80's and all I heard was hair metal. So, I listened to alot o that. I didn't get into thrash until the late 80's. I still listen to Slayer daily.

I love both for different reasons but I lean more to your so-called thrash. To me that is just good heavy metal well produced with lyrics you can actually hear! I love good quality sound and lots of heavy metal attitude and drive! Rock On!

Hair Metal is for chicks and wussies! If you don't have what it takes to deal with the real stuff, you need not bother me! Try some Kreator, Overkill, Suicidal Tendencies, Mercyful Fate, and get your ears ready for some bleeding!!!!!
