I thik that anyone who offers kindness is taken advantage of. Anyone wanting a favor is obviously going to ask someone who they feel will do it.....generally that's someone who has done something for them in the past.
Face it, no one is going to ask a favor of someone who has never done anything for them in the past..lol.
I'm taken advantage of all the time. The alternative is me 'owing' someone and that to me is worse than being taken advantage of. I'd rather be owed a kindness than owe one, if that makes sense.

All the time. So I put my foot down. I'm not helping anyone with anything anymore until someone reciprocates. These aren't even people I associate with. They just knock on the door when they need something. Apparently, we're not good enough to talk to, but we're good enough to borrow from. NO MORE!!!

If they do, it is only because I let them. I don't think it is ever really wrong to be kind. Unless they are on drugs or alcoholic, most people would not ask or take unless they really needed something.( I would help an alcoholic or drug-dependent person to get help for their problem.)
