It is possibly offered by some online university but I would not recommend it. Maybe Im just biased because I have a University-based education. I will advice you, that if you really want to be a social worker, don't do it online, but in a real-life classroom. With professor to student interaction, you get a lot more feedback and are able to learn a lot more things about this field. A college degree in this area will arm you with a well-rounded education to address all issues pertaining to this job. Also, when business/governments hire for this position, they take into consideration where you got your degree from. A lot of online degree programs (actually most of them) are not accreditted. This means that those that hire don't consider them as legit degrees.
If this is what you really want to do, take the first steps of achieving it at a community college. Talk to an advisor there, tell them your personal situation, and they can help you out in terms of finances and courses, etc.
Don't buy into many of these online degree scams... If you want to take courses online, talk to the advisor about taking online courses through a legit college/university.
Best of luck to you and your future!

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's offered online. That's the main degree that one should be able to do online. It's a "soft degree" without a high earning potential. It's like the psychology and sociology degree (unless you get a Masters). It's not like a degree in medicine, law, or engineering. Everything you're studying for that degree can be done independently. You can find all the information over the internet. They shouldn't even require 120 college credits for that degree. 80 college credits should be enough to cover that degree.

Oh, I hope not, since it doesn't make sense to train for a career involving human contact by avoiding human contact! Having said that, there are probably programs available, but I would really be suspicious of any such degree. If you do go in that direction, check on job placement rates, since I would guess that organizations hiring social workers would be similarly skeptical!
