* We won World War I because we had the will to win.
* We won world War II because we had the will to win.
* We LOST the Vietnam war because we lacked the will to win.
* We're LOSING the war in Iraq because we lack the will to win.
Indeed liberals are correct. Iraq IS turning into another Vietnam. Another shining example of what happens when half of this country wants to win, and the other half is determined to lose.

What you don't understand is that ,a war against a feeling or a tactic can never be won by any means ! What would 'winning' look like? Would it mean that anyone who hates us is dead? How would we know if we killed them all? Who would we get to sign the surrender papers? Do you think ongoing open ended warfare is the 'American Dream' we all strive for?
Do your homework in World History, and then ask yourself why it's so important to follow your 'leader' blindly into genocide against anybody you don't like. Did you even know that 'W's granpa was a convicted Nazi collaborator before and DURING W W2 ! Do ya think he's making his granpa proud?!? Take a chance...open your mind for just a little while, and see what happens ! It's knowlege that motivates the people who oppose the Bush admin. policies ! You seem to be motivated by fear and ignorance.

You can't trust anyone to win a war on terror. Terror is a concept, not a person or nation. The only way to end terrorism is to solve the problem about which the terrorists are fighting.

I do not think either side is helping win or lose the war at the moment seeing they are both wrongheaded on some aspects of what needs to be done.
Both parties are probably filled with this Utopian nonsense that we can actually bring peace to the Middle East. This conflict is more than the West vs. Islam. The Islamic world needs to learn how to stop fighting each other and find peace amongst themselves before we can do anything to bring peace to the region.

If George Bush would get it through his thick skull that we are hurting ourselves more by being Iraq than being out, then the war would be over too.
There was an interesting Frontline on last night about how stupid it was to get rid of the military at the start of the occupation. They fired and demonized these people who had military training and their own weapons. Are you surprised that there is an insurgency? Bush screwed up, but he will nto take responsibility or be willing to work to fix his mistakes with anything but force.
Bush needs to be impeached. And, people who ask questions like this are part of the problem to part of the solution.

Actually the Dems are so busy fighting Bush's immigration bill they can't concentrate on helping with the war. Bush is just out to destroy us all! He has lost his mind and he is going to ruin the United States if this bill passes. Talk about letting terrorists in! He does not know what he is doing.

To answer your question: There's a good chance 9/11 and the war on terrorism never would have happened in the first place were it not for a certain flag-burning, dope-smoking, secretary-screwing, secret-selling, felon-pardoning, Whitewatering, philandering liberal who had Osama bin Laden handed to him on a silver platter by the Sudanese and couldn't be bothered to call them back.
Liberals think that approaching the radical Muslim sects with a Dr. Leo Buscaglia "Living, Loving, and Hugging" attitude will stop the bloodshed. WRONG. They'll just rig bombs to themselves that explode and take out as many American infidels as possible when hugged. What you have to understand is that liberals are not the tolerant, accepting, open-minded individuals they claim to be. They only accept those who agree with their point of view, they're VERY intolerant of anyone who challenges their beliefs (case in point: Rosie O'Donnell) and they continue to spew the same old, tired "We're fighting a war for oil!" crap that they have been doling out since 1990. They think that taking a position contrary to that of "the establishment" makes them free-thinkers, but in reality they're conformists of the highest degree. I have yet to meet a liberal who can defend his/her beliefs with intelligent arguments. They always end up resorting to name-calling and bashing, as if the "Liar, liar, pants on fire" mentality is going to make ANYONE give any creedence to their beliefs or opinions.
They say if you're not a liberal you have no heart...I say if you're not a conservative you have no brain.

No, because the Dems and Repubs are both part of the problem; neither wants to do anything about it. Who are the enemies? Believe me, it's not who you think. Government is the enemy of the people, not "faceless terroists."

You seem to be confusing the current war in Iraq with 'The War on Terror'. They are not one and the same.
Democrats realize that we have gotten ourselves into a nasty boiling pot over in Iraq, and that there is precious little we can do to bring peace there, since these are religious factions fighting each other for power in the Iraq government.
The 'War on Terror' continues to be 'fought' by everyone.
