Friends at parties and stuff go "click click click" with their cameras photographing everyone regardless of what they're doing or whether they want to be photographed or not.
The next day you see the photos all over facebook and the internet.
Photos you really don't like.
You ask the friend to remove them but they rather enjoy the sense of power and refuse to.
They even upload photos of people who don't have facebook, so they don't even know.
Technically, they are violating various laws like the "right to privacy," and the "image used without consent" act. But obviously you're not going to take them to court over it...and the number of people doing it..you would fall out with a lot of people anyway.

So there is absolutely nothing you can do.

I think it's wrong. What do you think?

The mere fact of posing for a camera in a party means that (for most) you give your consent for your picture to be taken. But that does not necessarily follow that you want this plastered in the web for strangers to see.

It's best to get the permission of your friends. After taking a group pic, a simple "hey guys, I'm gonna put this in facebook may be enough". Asking for their consent goes a long way. I think it's not really wrong to put other people's pictures on the web. As long as they know (and oblige) you'll be same and your conscience is fine.

I don't use Facebook myself, I would not dream of uploading any photos without permission and tell people which site I am putting them on, incase these people don't want them uploading on the site. Facebook is not going to be around for ever.

The person owns the pictures, so I don't think you can really do anything about it. First of all, if it is violating rules, you can report it. Secondly, if you are tagged and you don't like it, you can remove the tag. (Yes, I know the photo is still there.) Also, if your friends aren't nice enough to remove it if you ask, you can remove them as your friends. (Yes, they still may take pictures of you if you see them.)

I don't think it's wrong. It comes with the internet. Honestly, you shouldn't put yourself in positions you wouldn't want to be photographed in, at least not in public. I understand I look like **** like sometimes and would PREFER my photo wasn't put up in situations like that, but I honestly am not going to sweat it if those pictures are on Facebook.

With my friends, I pretty much assume any and all photos taken of me will end up on the internet/Facebook.

I guess if you see it as a problem, it sucks for you, but I don't really see this as an issue. It's more of a personal issue (between the photographer and you) than an issue dealing with Facebook.

Its really very wrong, but in things like parties one has to know that many things do happen and to me photos should be taken by those who call people for such kind of parties

The reason being that, if they are uploaded onto face book, their will be no problem because the the person may want remember that day.

You can always untag yourself, but the photo remains on facebook. You can report the photo to facebook, and they can remove it for you (particuarly is its offensive). If its just because your hair or make up looks bad, they probably wouldnt see it as grounds to remove it, but a REAL embarassment (e.g. nudity) and theyll take it off for you. If it was really something that bad, you probably shouldnt have been doing it in the first place!

i think that most of the time, the people at the parties are plastered, and they get the shock of their lives when they see themselves on facebook the next day. Lol. I suppose it's wrong in a way, but it's only a bit of fun, just get them back somehow, then you'll be even... Enjoy life! Lol.

Then ask Her or friend of hers, who you are talking about to delete it..Or Maybe go to your or there's parents tell them what's going on. They can help you more then we can, I don't know what you expected by posting question on the Internet. Just Figure it Out

Why not??? Sue them... It only costs about $50.00 for you to file in small claims court....

You can represent yourself and have the laws that back you up ready in writing to hand to the judge. Sue for $100.00 over the amount of court costs ... lol AND the images to be taken down...

I think it would be hard for them to regulate the exact pictures they upload but it would be nice if it asked for confirmation before allowing someone to tag you in their albums.

You can control what pictures are you're tagged in. If you can catch it right as it's posted you can remove the tag, if he/she continues to tag you; you can report it, or you can tell him/her the first time not to tag you in it.
