Will science relatedvolunteer work/research done before I enter college help in going to medical school?

I am currently participating in a research program and will volunteer my time at a local hospital. Im just curious whether all this work will be a plus towards me when I apply to medical school.

Yes, absolutely. A long-term committment to volunteerism speaks very well to the sincerity of your interest in the field.

Remember though... most physicians don't do research, so if you want to be a practitioner of medicine (not a researcher), be sure to get experience outside of the context of research.

pretty much every US community college or university has volunteer tutor opportunities, just find a city you like online then ask them online

you could get high flying volunteer opportunities if you figure out Harvard University's volunteer structure You could write to nifty student organizations asking them about volunteer activities, that way you socialize with Harvard students while doing good

If you volunteer at Iceland you will appear bizarre rare n precious to the med school committee a huge plus particularly if you revisit mid college at the medical places there

a letter of recommendation from Iceland will make you visible

regarding what you actually wrote: I think a knowledge of medical culture absorbed while young will give you valuable fluency n perspective on physicianing
