No, it doesn't work like that. The fixtures would be recalculated. At the moment they work so that matches don't clash. Premier teams get the biggest crowds so the League has to work closely with the police for crowd and traffic control. Because of this teams like Man Utd and City don';t play at home one the same day. Liverpool and Everton and so on. In Sheffield's case there's Wednesday to consider too. The Fulham fixtures might affect them adversely if Sheffield united took them Similarly West Ham couldn't take over Sheffield United's fixtures either. Imagine the difference in attendances when Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal visit as opposed to Championship teams.

No chance mate. West Ham ain't going down, and if the Premier league is stupid enough to allow 21 teams then I think that Sheffield Utd should play all their games midweek because all the weekends would be taken up by teams that have earned the right to be in the Premier league, not cried their way into it.

This would be a good solution but let`s face it,it`s not going to happen.
and of course,sheff utd play at Bramhall lane,whereas sheff wed. play at Hillsborough.
