Fathers day weekend is city stages 3 day music event.
As for food head out to "Dreamland BBQ"
And the Birmingham Barons Baseball team plays at "Regions park" in Hoover.

Birmingham is filled to the rafters with great restaurants. In fact, the New York Times did a fawning article on us in December on the sheer quantity of good places to eat.

Pretty active arts town, with lots of performances and festivals. You just have to look for them. A really good local music scene as well.
