I love what would be considered "great" movies, such as Gone With the Wind or Rebecca, but for some reason I am a total Pirates of the Caribbean addict and fan, anyone else like this?

I like movies which you have mentioned. I never saw Rebecca; but I have seen other Alfred Hitchcock movies, Psycho and The Birds and liked those. I also like older classic movies (ie. Gone With the Wind and Casablanca) and musicals. I also love Pirates of the Caribbean, a good action adventure fantasy film. We just like different genres of movies.

Think about what makes those old movies so great: unique and interesting characters. Pirates has unique and interesting characters coming out of the wazoo. Compare that to a lot of other movies these days that are just special effects or may have a great story, but populate that story with dull, ordinary actors. Perhaps you are interested in good characters, and that is why you are attracted to these films?

wow, you really just heard about it? Thanks for posting for the pirate fanatics who didn't know. Oh and by the way they aren't sure if they are going to film more than 3 of them, so that is definitely not comfirmed. It's just a rumour about the fourth film and that Orlando getting kicked off.

I was a fan until I watched the third movie.
The first Pirates was the best; it was simple good fun with just enough scary action of pirate fighting that I'd see it again and again. The next two don't pull enough interest to even begin figuring out what it all means...I just don't care anymore.

Pirates was a good trilogy.
The first one was the best.
I didn't care too much for #2 cause it was too long.
Really liked the 3rd one.

i defiantly am!! i find myself watching it everyday!! i taped both of them off Starz....and I've seen potc: 3 twice in theaters and I'm going again with another friend this weekend!! i keep using different friends so i wont seem lame...lol...
