Being 7 games behind .500, 9 games behind the Tigers and Indians, having the worst batting average in the majors at .231, a horrible bullpen, and theres probably more bad stuff im forgeting but my point is do they have a realistic chance of making the playoffs or should they be sellers at the all star break? Also who should they trade at the break and for who?

As a huge White Sox fan, it pains me greatly to type this, but I don't think they have a chance of making the playoffs. They have been bad consistently: The hitting, pitching and even defense are not good enough in this division. They need more speed, as Pods and Erstadt are not healthy. Even though JD had a MVP-caliber season in '06, he is turning into a liability defensively, he is a good candidate for a trade.

Believe me, I am a White Sox fan and they have no shot at the playoffs. They do have a shot at getting to .500 but no chance at the playoffs.

The only reason why the White Sox are seven games under .500 is because of their hitting. NOT THEIR BULLPEN. The bullpen has lost a few games for them but their hitting has lost even more. They have been shutout 5 TIMES this year and couldn't beat the Phillies three days ago, a 3-0 game. If the White Sox could hit, they can end up over .500, but like I said they cannot make the playoffs because they have the Twins, Indians, and Tigers in front of them!!! They are in the toughest division in baseball.

Go Sox!

You know I really really want to say that they will turn the season around and make the playoffs. Look at the Twins last year, they were looking done, then all of a sudden they won the division. Look at theYankees this season, everyone was writing them off, but they are back at .500. But last years Twins & this years Yankees are different then the White Sox, they don't have bullpens that cant hold a lead, & they players can actully score runs. If the White Sox can figure out how to hit and how to keep a lead then they could just turn it around.

In all probability, there is little chance that they'll come back, even to make it too the wild card. Their pitching staff has stepped up recently, with Buehrle and Garland posting sub 4 ERAs, but there struggling offense is making it hard for them to win games. In addition, they would have to pass two teams at least to have a shot at the playoffs, and the AL Central is arguably the toughest division is baseball this season. It's unlikely that they'll catch Cleveland or Detroit, but if you recall the year they won the World Series, they were up 14 games on Cleveland and the Tribe drew to within 1.5 before dropping 9 of their last 10. And it's still early, so even though it's unlikely, it could happen.

Thank goodness the World Series isn't in June. Anything is possible, but if I had to decide by the way they look right now, obviously no. But I can't predict the future. All I can say is I desperately what them to get it together. Just as bad teams can turn it around, so goes for good teams going into a slump. That is what I'm hoping for. So..............Go Sox.

White sox are done. If everyone is saying that the yankess are done then surely the white sox are done as well. Detroit should take out the al central and and cleveland the wildcard.

YES!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'! If they have a hot streak yes. But I think they need to trade a good player for a relief pitcher instead of bringing people up. But still believe!!!

GO WHITE SOX!!!!
There is nothing they can do about there batting besides step it up. They should trade Jermaine Dye. I don't want this to happen but they need a good relief pitcher like Joel Zumaya.

Sadly - there is no fire in this club. Add the injuries to Ozuna, Podsednik, Erstad and Crede - this team is done. No need to have a big fire sale. But they will trade if they get value in return.
