Personally I don't see the point in just saying "o.k" or "I don't know". Why bother to do that. If you know the answer or have an opinion, why not just say it?
I think it's a way of gaining points lazily.

Personally, I like to give a little detail. A justification as to why I chose the answer I did, but at least you pick the answer. I think if you're going to ask the question you should pick the answer, unless you have a reason not to. I had to let one go to a vote because it was an opinion thing and there were a few equally as good answers (I didn't want to decide who had the best opinion). So, I like a little more than that, but I wouldn't feel guilty about it.
