I never stop, my mind is always racing to the next thought, and processing multiple pieces of information. My mind is like the mail, it never stops!

YES, YES, YES! That is it exactly. All thinking in this direction only adds momentum to the 'need' to end thinking which we've been told is the end to suffering. Thought is external to the living organism. It is the sum of all of mankind's experiences and assumptions carried by each society. It is useless as a tool to find the end to the supposed 'suffering'. There is no need for an end as the very suffering we are told to escape is the thought that demands the need. There is no need, there is no suffering happening in the living organism. You are not separate from the living organism. Thought is destroying any sensitivity to the living organism and nature but cannot be stopped by thought.

I've heard about this Taoist philosophy alot, to have no thought or wu wei, but I've come to the conclusion that to have the mind of nothingness is not the key to happiness and peace. Its about what you think, not how much you think. Looking at everything in life with a positive attitude and mindset is the key, not blanking your mind and having nothing in it. And you're right, its impossible to achieve. Even the act of writing these words is thought in itself, expressed on paper. Focus on how you think (aka, attitude), not eliminating thought, and that is the key to happiness.

Think of the mind like a computer.
The modem is the memory bank, and your screen is your consciousness.
You can open your Internet browser, and learn, or go through your saved files, and reread your saved data.
Whenever you make a conscious thought a pop up occurs, it consists either of new information, or old information from your modem, when it pops up it only pops up as long as you hold on to it or think it.
You access these files by thinking, or clicking with your mouse (if you will.)
The codex of the a thought called "CAT".
Files>CAT>Animal>Cute>Furry>Cont>Cat
That's were the codex ends, you can always add information, and make the cat blue, or yellow, then a new train of thought is added.
Files>Color>Sun(Noun)>yellow>Cat>Fur>Yellow/Cat
I don't believe the mind ever stops thinking.
Its also very hard to explain.

By becoming aware of what you feel while you visualize what you think. It's unnatural and it takes a lot of practice. Again, easier said than done. The mind likes thinking better than feeling. You could try, but it would be pretty much a waste of time, but you should try it so you will know for yourself.

Good luck!

Yes. But the thought will remain in your head, so you may come back to it later. If you don't, you may forget it! =D simple enough...

Although you may think of something related to the previous thought, so you probably didn't end it just yet.

through complete self control or death of the body. At some level of self you are just witnessing and not thinking, judging or making distinctions. That is the level to strive for but at that level you are not striving at all thus the predicament we all find ourselves in. good luck

It sure is. Thats why there's NO END to thinking. You're always thinking of SOMETHING. It might not be what you want at the moment but there's always something running through your mind.
