Being in a relationship is the second hardest job on the planet the first being raising kids. Anytime you add more people to the group it means that you have to work even harder at being in a good relationship. Loving more than one is not easier it is infinately harder. Like wise it can never be selfish because they ALL have to come first. The morals are those of pure love not restricted by mundane rules that should never have been put in force. People were not meant to be monogomus but years of force has made it more popular.

It takes effort and patience to maintain a one on one relationship, never mind adding others into the equation. I'd have no desire or need to do that. Further I can raise my kids and take care of my household very capably, with one man, and myself.
Couldn't pay me to be in a relationship like that!

Although I don't pursue that lifestyle, I can understand the point you are making. There is no logical reason that consenting adults should not be able to have multiple marriage partners if they so desire.

Eventually, such things will become the norm, but I doubt you and I will be alive when that happens.

I know this isn't an answer to your question, but please don't assume that everyone would rather have the option of being in an open relationship. I'm married and have no desire to be with anyone else.
