Do women realize men would listen more if they spoke more efficiently? That blank look on our face means are useless crap filter has been activated.

okay that is just mean. We have thoughts. feelings and opinions that we need to express. And we expect you to listen just as you expect us to listen to your lousy jokes, boring trips and ect. Plus talking alot or having lot say makes us women and something that is not easy to tune off. If you do not want to hear us then get yourself a blow up doll, she won't talk or say anything but have that blank expression on her face like you said.

I agree with you Ted. I am a woman and I too often wonder why some women have to use up 1000 words to say what they could easily have said using only 10. I guess, for some women, it is a "curse."

They are the way they are, we are the way we are, nothing is going to change that, and we all should accept it. A book about it is "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus." (Its by a man.) You're not going to like it but it may get you to a place where it makes sense to be tolerant. I know this doesn't help much but its probably about as good as its going to get. I'm sorry if I have been too verbose for you.

being a positive person i do because i like to believe that the men in my life ie partner brother boss or friends aren't fickle and it is that they just don't get it.! To be honest a thousend words has rarely made a difference but i live in the hope that the day will come, one brain cell may rub with the other and presto !! they all start making life easy for all of us!

Perhaps she thinks you are a complete idiot and feels the need to break it down to you in slow enunciated syllables for you. You do come off as slow by even asking that question...Maybe if you did things right, women wouldn't have to get so detailed...MEN!

they found that women speak about 5,000 words a day while men speak about 3000 words a day.

Men are genetically not designed to express their emotions in words as easily as woman are. Woman have a link in their brain that make it easier to say how they feel.
Maybe guys cant relate and that could be why you dont understand why your girl keeps talking.

I love it when I'm talking to my ex husband and he just sits there and stares blankly and immediately stops talking. It means he wants to lie because he doesn't want me to be mad, but he can't grasp what I'm asking him. One of the reasons for the divorce. The current company I keep has no problem keeping up with me conversationally.

Damn right. They probably do it to cover everything your going to say or might ask. ...and girls want us to talk to them. Then ask a question with sub-1000 words and let us answer. I've noticed it's to get you focused on one or two things in there rant, you answer, and they've got you pinned to the wall with the 999 other things they said.
