I was right all four times, though the first one, at first, I wasn't sure it would be a girl. I kept switching back and forth till about the second month when I realized it was definitely a girl.
I was also right on the money about the types of personalities the children would display. Could I do it if it were your children? No, I don't think so. I just felt intensely connected to each of my babies before they were born. I believe most mothers are, if they are not relying only on hopes.

With my first 2 I was right. I "just knew" I was having girls both times. Even though everyone I knew kept telling me it was going to be a boy. They did all the tests the wedding ring a piece of string. All the old wives gender predicting.
I am expecting my 3rd everyone says I am having another girl but I just know I am having a boy. I don't know if it is because I want a boy so bad now as this will be definitely our last one. (Not that I wont be happy either way, it's just that a boy would be nice)
I go for my ultrasound in 2 weeks and then hopefully we will know!! So then we shall see if my "maternal instincts" are right.
Best of luck to you and congratulations!!

Wait for the ultrasound (but be prepared, because they may not be able to tell you, depending on the position of the baby.)
Unfortunately, pretty much everything 'they say" about predicting the sex of the baby is wrong - you have a 50% chance of being right, regardless of which gender you 'feel' you are having. (Or that 'they' try to tell you that you're having, "they" have the same odds of being correct.)
I've had people try to guess the gender from:
how I felt
how bad my sickness was
what kinds of foods I'm 'craving' (or just wanting for lunch)
how my belly looks (I'm at 27 weeks with my 2nd)
what I had the first time
what my siblings have had
what my siblings are, sex-wise
what my pee in a cup with Drano color-wise is (my favorite, definitely does NOT work = )
etc, etc
I've had an amnio, so I KNOW what the sex is, and it just makes me laugh, all the people who try to figure it out with some old folklore. = )
Don't stress over it too much, believe what you want. Just plan for either/or depending on the ultrasound (which are sometimes wrong anyways, doncha love it! = ) A happy mommy makes a happy baby, and that is the most important thing, right?
Good luck!

With my first one, I wanted a boy, but maternal instinct told me girl. It was a girl. The next time, I went with my maternal instinct which was a boy. It was a boy.
Pregnancy is such a magical time. When you start to feel the little one kick you, it is the most amazing feeling you will ever have in your life. Cherish it always. It helps you stay happy at 3 AM with spit-up all down your night gown. Hee hee! :-) It makes you wish they would have not come out until they are 20. :-)

I guessed a girl with my daughter and it was verified at my ultrasound. My second pregnancy seemed to be going just the same as my first so I assumed girl once again, but was shocked when my ultrasound revealed a boy! I guess my maternal instinct was 50/50.

I knew from the time I was pregnant that I was having a boy. Everyone told me everyday that I was wrong and it was going to be a girl (you're gaining in your hips...boy babies like you...you didn't get sick...etc). They even looked at the Chinese calendar and it said girl. The day I had my ultrasound, it's like my little man was showing off--it was CLEARLY a boy! And now I have the most beautiful baby boy in the world.

I really, really wanted a girl. I kept having these feelings that it was a boy. Everyone was telling me they had girl vibes. I dreamed girl--but that voice in my head kept on saying--It's a boy. Well, guess what? I'm having a boy. So I guess you can say my maternal instinct was right. :)

The moment I found out I was pregnant, I told my husband I was having a boy. Since he has 2 daughthers from a previous marriage...he said he didn't think so. 8 sonograms all said it was a boy...my mom looked at my belly and told him it was a boy, and Finally, my son was Born, And what do I tell him..."Now you Believe Me"??? He was so happy, he just knoded "yes".
