Bonds is not having the kind of year where he deserves to be on the all-star team. There are many others with better numbers, .287-13-30 is not good enough.

To be honest I don't think he will be there. If The Giants fans didn't pull together and vote him in with enough support then why should LaRussa extend him such a courtesy?
There's only three spots and Bonds is 42,000 votes behind Soriano.
The only way I see LaRussa letting Bonds on the team is if 2 players ahead of him in the votes were to go down with injuries.

No. Even though I hate Barry Bonds, if he was having a good year, LaRussa should put him on the team, but the fact of the matter is that Barry isn't having a good year and is not deserving of the All Star Team.

If he wants to let him..... I'm a Giants fan and don't really care about fan voting. It's retarded. Players should be voted in based only upon merit and Barry does not make the AS team this year. It's not about hatred, or the stupid fans still thinking he's taking steroids, but other players that perform better are not on the team!
Let La Russa decide, and he will definitely make a correct call by not voting Bonds in. I'd let Bonds focus on the HR quest instead.

No way in hell should Bonds be an all star. He's bad for the game, its history, and its image. Plus, his knees are pretty much done. I'd love to see him go down with a career-ending injury. Then, the most treasured record in Major League Baseball history would remain unbroken.

Maybe he doesn't deserve it but who on the Giants will be their representative if he doesn't go? Omar is having a bad year and Cain isn't doing that much better than Bonds.
Every team must have one player in the game and Bonds will probably win it by default.

I think he will for two reasons. One, the game is in San Francisco, and it would be a slap in the face to the fans there who have taken a beating in supporting Bonds in the face of this turmoil. Two, he is one of the all time greats- unproven steriod accusations notwithstanding- and he should get one more turn in the spotlight for good or for bad.
Now, if the game was anywhere else, I would say it's a toss up.

No he shouldn't. There are a lot of players having better years than Bonds. He just doesn't deserve to go this year.
It looks like everyone who is being honest and saying Bonds doesn't deserve to go is getting a thumbs-down from some genius.

Bonds is not having an all star season. He is without a doubt an all star in general, but he's not putting up those all star numbers this season. Let some of the young guys take over.

He's had a good year but others have done better. The only reason he would be chosen would be for the novelty of his career....drugged or not.
Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I'm sure there are many more than we know that have doped or drugged and they have records too. They just didn't get called out for it.
