I'm a server/bartender and believe me....you have to take the good with the bad. You might have one really good night followed by a not so good one. It all evens out. I've never heard of Eatin Park, but I can gurantee you that you will make much more money serving than you would working in retail or something for 7 dollars an hour.
Plus serving jobs are everywhere. Once you're an experienced server you can go where the money is. :)

Although I've never heard of it, take it. Keep your feelers out while you're working for another job. Restaurants love to "steal" people with experience. Even if you get "snatched" in a couple months, that's not bad on a server resume at all.
I had nights at my casual place where I'd bring home $6, and nights with $100 in tips. Be courteous, nice, smile, keep the glasses full, clear the table, pay attention to cleanliness, fix anything wrong, and did I mention smile??
Good luck, it can be a lucrative job as you move up!

You can never exactly say what you will make because you have amazing nights and horrible nights. Iv never heard of that place before but if you can get some experiance then i say work there get the experiance soak up as much info as possible and move on to where the money is. (Better more expensive resturaunt) You deff. make more money waitressing or bartending then you do working in a retail store or working a desk job but you wont see it in your check. You will be pd min. waitress pay which here in MA is $2.85 but you will make all of your money in tips. Make sure you are very freindly and nice to customers and the most important is attentive (drink empty or almost empty ask if they want another before they ask you) Good luck and remember a smile is key to a good night in tips!!!

Take the job and keep looking. Eatnpark restaurants are usually located on the highway off-ramps, and are pretty good, or I was very hungry!
Expect minimum tips from the so-called senior citizens who eat there, especially if they go to the buffet.
Use the job for experience and keep looking. If you're old enough, try for a restaurant with a bar. the booze will always increase the bill and therefore, your tip!
Good luck!

I haven't worked there, but I've eaten there a lot. You'll probably work pretty hard, and the average tip per check probably won't be a lot, but you'll be gaining the experience you need to start working your way up to more high-paying places. Go for it!
I'll tip about 20% if the server is doing a good job (or at least trying to). And my typical check is between 12-20 bucks.

I wouldn't say that a $2.00 tip for a $12 or $20. check is tipping well. 20% of $12. is 2.50 and for $20. is @4.00. And that's minimum today. Both my kids worked their way through college as servers and I know it's a hard job. I always tip over
20% because of them. I wish you well, Ashlea.
