Animal sex has a certain periodicity, unlike humans.
This happens when the female is in heat or in receptive mood. It is in many cases related to season and maturity of oocytes.Human sex too is a cyclic phenomena. But this is overshadowed by other considerations and becomes a subject of pleasure as a human mind perceives a lot more out of this than simply procreation.

Its when animals have sex. Not many animals have sex for pleasure: humans, dolphins, chimps, baboons and some other have been known to do it. Most do it purely for mating, and do enjoy it, however. It releases enorphins, melatonin etc just like it does in humans.
