It's the summer now and i'm going to be a junior and i need a job. The problem is i'm 15 - young for my grade and most places only hire at 16. I'm as mature and responsible as others it's just i started school earlier.
Could I get away with saying i'm 16 on my job application?

I don't want to babysit or do yardwork - I want a real job.
Thanks everyone though.

do not do it.
you can be fined by the company for labor laws and/or if you are injured on the job.
you can get a paper route or maby a grocery store bagger. something simple to hold you over untill your legally 16.
its the kind of thing that if you got away with it you may end up regretting it for a LONG time.
plus the facts that they will check your background and age and such would make it tricky to pull off anyways.
dont do it, theres plenty of ways to earn some cash for another few months till your of age.

There are laws about minors working and in some jobs a person who is 15 cannot legally work. If you lie and the employer gets in trouble, what then? Would you be willing to pay the fine for the employer out of your pocket?
Most places will require you to have a valid driver's license or some other form of ID where the employer can easily check your age. It would not take much for you to be caught. If you are then you will be fired.

It's easy for them to find out your real age. Why don't you go for jobs like babysitting or yardwork? Those types of jobs can pay a lot and will count as work experience you apply for an hourly job later on.

They probably wouldn't care unless they are looking for a valid reason to fire you down the line. If you lie on your application at all for any reason, it's grounds for immediate termination, in most states anyway. Use teachers from school or simply explain to them that you have no professional references. But if you lie and they find out it's usually grounds for termination

Go to you school's office and ask for working papers. Your school will provide you with papers which allow you to work as early as 13, provided you do not go over a certain amount of hours. How else is a kid supposed to save for a car when he's going to be 16?

look into getting a workers permit. N.C. laws allow 15 year olds to work with a permit. May want to check into it. You won't want to lie nor will you get away with it because a picture ID will be required from you. And if you're mature and responsible as you say you are, you won't lie on your application anyway.

Nope, they are going to want verification of your age, birth certificate, or something. If you start lying now, whats going to stop you from lying in the future? Maybe you could babysit, mow lawns, or walk dogs, just a few suggestions.

Instead try mowing grass or doing work around the house. even if you lie you will be caught and that could be much worse. bisides if you get a job under the table there are no taxes which means more money!

No, all employers require IDs such as a driver's license when filling out your tax forms. It's not something that can easily be lied about.
