well, I'm going to ask how much you weight, but you shouldn't carry more than 10% of your body weight, 15% very occonasnally. carrying more than that can permantly damage your spine, and can cause alot of problems later in life, espeacially for girls, but still can affect guys also. What I would suggest is to ask your techers if you need the book for that class, and if you don't need it in class, leave it at home.. or, ask a teacher to let you leave a few books in a corner or empty cabnet. Really, you should try to get your school to get lockers, you could talk to your parents and also to the school board. Also, go though your papers often and remove the ones you don't need. I hope this works for you!

You could get a second copy of some of your books so you would not have to take everything home. always have some extra notebooks at home and don't take stuff that you don't need to use home. You could also get a backpack that not only goes on your shoulders but also secures around your waist. This provides extra support so the weight isn't all on your back. As for your size, this does not affect it and you should not worry about being small because you just might outgrow some of your friends in the next couple of years.

A heavy bag won't stunt your growth, but it's terrible for your posture and can make your back sore. Try carrying only the books you must take home for homework. Talk to your favorite teacher about storing your extra books in a classroom. Also tell your parents that your school needs lockers.

For heavens sakes! Get a backpack on wheels. You can carry it or wheel it around. You're going to hurt your back permanently!
